At the end of Book 1, Nova journeys to the Realm of the Dead, where the wailing souls of the departed are snatched up by winged creatures to their final rest. There, she meets the First King of Faery, who holds the Realm of Fairies in his hand, and he gives her the peace she’s been seeking since the start.
